Day Eighty Five - 22:20 : The Secret(s) to my success (which really aren't so secret)

Okay, so how do I do it? How do I stick to this diet so vehemently, and at the same time retain my sanity? I mean, after all I've found with previous survivors of the Optifast 800 diet these things aren't exactly mutually exclusive.

First, excercise. It makes you feel good to use your new and improved body, espescially in ways you'd never have dreamt of before. That, and also it helps to build muscle tone, which is instantly viewable in the mirror - and a good thing to view.

Second, after a certain amount of weeks (and the approval of your dietician) get creative with veggies on the side. Steam up a cup or two of mixed veggies, put some salsa on them and have them for "dinner". After dinner, have a chocolate shake with some sugar-free cherry kool-aid mix in it. It's honestly very satisfying, and can "feel" like a real meal with dessert.

Third, get creative with OptiFast shake "recipies". You'll get sick of them. Badly. But a simple modification can make it easier. One that I found is the "big chocolate mofo shake-tastic sundae". That is, I make a chocolate shake using some diet 7up or Sprite Zero and ice. Then, add in a tad bit of splenda (one packet), and chop up a chocolate optifast bar. Blend it for JUST A SECOND (the bars get gross if chopped up too much). It's awesome.

Finally, the soup is good for eating a "normal" dinner. "eating". Dump in some spices, and some Jalepenos and it's really good. It's actually not bad.

One last thing, remember, this never ends. You never again can go back to your previous life. And that, folks is "the real world".
