Recently I moved from being across the street (literally) from work to being about 2 miles away. As that 2 miles is on side streets, I decided that I would resolve myself to commuting solely on my bike(s). Today was the first day.
No stats yet, and probably won't be many because I dunno how long my commute home is. Oops, guess I should have figured that out? Note that I say that because I will be taking the "long way" home that should add in about 6 more miles for a total of 8. There is a nice path that runs the majority of the way, which will make for a nice ride.
I bought one of these backpacks recently (but got it on super-sale for $30.. score!) and it rocks. I could go on and on about the virtues of it today, but note that I fit two large school books, work clothes, lunch, spare tubes and something I'm forgetting with space to spare. It sits very comfortably on my back, time will tell for sure, but so far it works. However it does create fallout in my office, of which I would now link a picture, but my treo is being a rat bastard.
Oh well. I'll post something tonight with more pictures.
Anyway, 19 degrees out when I left and it was COLD but not terrible. The route lends itself well to commuting no matter what. Which sucks, excuses are now over. Damn.
