To freeze or not to freeze

Todays ride: 8.7 miles, 32 degrees (ish) and about 45 minutes on the bike.

For my first ride in - literally - a month I chose to freeze. I left and it ws below freezing, still in the 20s. Layered up like crazy and wearing hiking boots, ironically I didn't get very cold at all. I thought for sure that I was going to freeze, but I did fine. I still need something to block out the cold air, as my chest is a little on the cold side. But.. it felt good! I took the Hardrock, and was glad I did after several pretty snowy areas. It seems to handle the snow well in stock form, but I definitely need to do something about the seatpost. My leg extension is nowhere near full on that bike, and it got a little old really quickly.

Weight wise I'm doing great, I'm down to almost the 30 pound mark since I re-started, and getting ever closer to the 300 total lost mark. I'll be honest, for the first time I really want it. I want to blow past the 300 pound lost mark, never look back, and start to enjoy life. After that there's no real major milestone left except for my goal, as if I lost 400 there would be nothing left of me.

After 300 is the final goal, and then what the heck am I going to do? :) Who knows, but man, I really want it. Bad. :)

Still here!

Been busy, what can I say? I also screwed up a bit, and put 18 pounds of the weight I'd lost back on around the time I got married. Ooops! No reason to dwell on it, I just bucked the hell up and threw diet back into the mix, losing 25 over the past three weeks. So that's a net loss of 7, which rocks the cas-bah.

I haven't been on a bicycle in almost a month, which is also kind of a bummer. Sickness, new job, and any other excuse I can find are definite reasons, but not for long. Last night I was all about getting a gym membership - like I did last winter - but I'm second guessing that today. It's $50/mo, and that just is a bit of cash to outlay because I can't man it up and ride through the winter.

Note: I say this now, but come January I'll be a widdle ball of tears. :)

I'll probably end up with the gym membership, of course, because as much as I try to man it up spending $200 on winter clothing to make it feasible to cycle isn't appealing. And, you know, it's the same I'll spend on a gym between now and March/April.

I'M SO CONFUSED!

Anyway, life's good. Glad to be back on track, got a awesome new job, and a great family. Time to kick the weight loss back in gear and finish what I started!
