Amazing morning, night ridin' and Fargo

As I walked out this morning, I was greeted with the above, and had to grab my camera.  Absolutely gorgeous morning, if a bit cold (53 when I left), but the colors in the sky more than made up for it.  Caught a pretty cool sight here as well:
The sun caught the dome of the State Capitol, and the picture just doesn't do it justice.  It was one of those times where you just kind of went "wow".  How often do you stop and take in something like this in a car?  I do.. sometimes.

Last night Oliver talked me into a night ride.  Not so much talked, it was a gorgeous night and I wanted to get some more miles this week anyway, but didn't really want to ride after work today.  Worked out well, instead of riding his new Big Dummy, he rode his fixed gear Steamroller.  It was pretty cool/amusing to see the rapid leg movement on downhills, to say the least :).

Anyway, really good ride with a decent pace, checked out his Big Dummy after it, then went home and crashed.  Slept like a rock last night, that is, until 4:30am when I woke up and couldn't seem to get back to sleep.  That was helped, of course, by a dumb cat who likes to lick my face to wake me up.  Amazing he's still alive.
Okay seriously, how awesome is that?  Salsa's new bike, the Fargo, is basically either the world's most badass touring bike, or the craziest 29er MTB you've ever seen.  It takes the Long Haul Trucker concept one step further in case you, you know, need to travel across Siberia then Africa, but don't want to have two different bikes to do so.  Or if you wanted to have a bike that you could take on singletrack, do a long gravel ride, or do pavement - and have it do them all pretty well.  If you had one of those and say, a Long Haul Trucker you could have two bikes that do everything under the sun pretty dang well.

You know, just sayin'.  Heh.

Anyway, ride your bike this weekend.  Temps are mild, life's too short to sit in front of a TV.

Now everyone around me is trying to figure out why there is hysterical laughter coming from my cube.

Yeah I dunno about Frodo keeping you awake with the licking, but I know it was the baby pissed off because I couldn't get a bottle into his mouth fast enough... at 4:30 am.

Not that I'm complaining, considering he went to bed at 7:30. I'd be pretty pissed too if I didn't have my breakfast waiting for me the second I woke up after 9 hours of sleep.

Erm... wait a minute...
