Cloudy with one heck of a silver lining

It's dreary and rainy.. again.  The ride in wasn't bad, and it wasn't pleasant either.  Latter mostly because I should have taken my rain jacket off right after I turned South at the zoo, instead of waitng another 2 miles, which caused me to sweat profusely.  See the wind seemed to be out of the North, so the trip to the zoo was good.  After that, with the tailwind, I sweated like it was 100 degrees out.  Thankfully once removed, the rain cooled me down quite nicely, so the ride wasn't a total loss.

Although I only saw one other cyclist today, one of the "regulars", the guy yesterday who didn't look happy but today was back on his normal rig and looked at least not-unpleased.  Nobody else though, so weird, there's probably a dozen "regulars" I usually see.  Weak!

While I could be all bummed about the weather, the silver lining is in regard to being a proud Dad.  My daughter, on her first tryout ever for a play anywhere, scored a lead role in "Arthur's Halloween" at our only/major community playhouse in Lincoln.  I'm so proud you couldn't get the smile off my face if you tried, and everyone I've talked to today knows about it, so if I do it right, pretty sure half the country will know by the end of the day.

That's all I've got today, have a good weekend.  Remember, rain won't melt you, I've proven that two days in a row, and being a Dad is just about the best thing ever.  There's my little GI JOE lesson for the day ;).

I've commuted in the rain three days this week. It's not my favorite activity, for sure, but that's how it goes. It's better than the ice and snow we'll be riding through in just a short time!

I rode this morning! It was quite nice, actually. I gotta get the fenders back on the Cross Check, though.

Scott - Thank you (from both of us), and I agree. Can't beat these moments :).

Fluxus - I'm not sure about snow, I actually dig snow :). Ice, on the other hand, I have a lot of self-convincing to do before I ride on it. LOT of self-convincing. :)

kew - Fenders made the difference in the world for me. I can't stand wet feet, for some reason, so last year kinda stunk in that regard. This year has been leaps and bounds better, thankfully :).

Set up a bike with Spiked Tires on it for the ice and snow.

Those'll gain some confidence in the corners.
