Long Haul TRUCKer

Today, by far, I had the biggest load I've carried on my LHT.  It was like the perfect storm, so to speak, of stuff.  Last night I went to the store to restock for two (more like almost three) weeks worth of lunch supplies, which would fit fine in one pannier.  Throwing laundry into the dryer last night I thought "why not go to the gym over my lunch hour tomorrow"?  Finally, weather was to be 50 degrees out this morning, cool enough to warrant a cotton long-sleeved shirt, with afternoon temps over 70 that warranted non-long sleeves.

Aka, I needed to carry a whole ton of crap today.  So carry I did:

Two panniers, filled full of stuff.  In summary, it was awesome.  Here's the thing about this bike, it never ceases to surprise me, today included.  The only time I noticed the load was twice, once while doing a gradual climb out of a underpass on the bike path, and the second while going over some particularly bumpy street crossings.  First time took a little more effort than usual, second time I could feel the unbalanced food pannier jiggle the bike around a little bit.

Speaking of the ride in, I think 50 degrees is the "leg covering" and "full finger gloves" limit.  Aside from that, it was gorgeous this morning and promises to be the same on the way home.  70 degrees, looking forward to cotton t-shirts now that fall is peeking it's head around the corner, and enjoying some nice cool rides.

Looking forward to also lots of lunchtime workouts at the gym, going to start using the gym as my primary weight-loss exercise so I don't have to feel like I always have to ride a ton, or ride hard all the time.  Took it a little easier this morning and it was awesome, same thing last night.

Oh, and yes, the fenders are back on :).
