This thing is awesome. Sunday when the wife, family and I went to the gym I saw it while I went to go say hi to my wife, after some quality elliptical torture. I thought huh, that looks kinda weird, maybe I should try it. It was really weird, kind of like running on air, but then you could do stair stepping or just regular climbing. Totally strange and woderful at the same time. Today is my "driving" day, so I woke up at 6:15am, threw on gym clothes and was out the door by 6:30(ish). First observation: HELLOOOO FALL! Man it was chilly out, but woke me up pretty quick. To make sure I actually made it to work on time, I spent 30 minutes on the AMT and had a blast. 3.13 miles, which is pretty sweet considering it's been a long time since my legs and feet only propelled me past a 10 minute mile. In fact, I came *dang* close to getting a 9 minute mile, within 10 seconds, but that'll come soon enough. Felt awesome leaving and heading to work, which makes me think that the morning workouts are really where it's at.
In other news I dropped the stem lower (way lower) on my still exposed 10 feet of steerer tube in an effort to quell hand numbness. See this weekend I rode the Hardrock on Saturday for a nice little 11 miler to go pick up the car, and the fit felt pretty good - even though my saddle on that is (way) higher than the bars, so I am hunched over. So yesterday was weird because the bars on the LHT were way lower, but it felt pretty good.
That's all I've got today, been a good one so far. And no I have no idea how much I lost last week because I forgot to weigh in.. oops! I need to do that one of these days.

OMFG I tried calling. I just witnessed a guy on a bike get hit by a big old tan Dodge Caravan directly in front of our house, in front of the fire hydrant! The van turned right into him! omfg!
I called 911, but the guy said he was "fine" and didn't need an ambulance. Then they leave, with the van guy putting the bike on top of his van (NOT SECURED) because apparently the biker lives just up "about two blocks" from us... and he walked (limped) there.
WTF mate???
No more bikes. Just that pretty gym machine you have right there is good enough.
I was all, "I called because my husband rides every day and I fear for his life all too often."
GAH! I need a Xanex.
I love this weather, but the only sucky thing is the excessive clothing on the way home from work.
Stoked to have you along for the GLGA!
The excessive clothing thing stinks! I've kind of sort of found a way, thankfully I have panniers now because when I had a backpack I really didn't like it. I'm sure my tune will change when it's 40/60 degree weather and I'm really trying to figure out a system.
The GLGA is goona be awesome, I think. If I don't psych myself out too much beforehand, that is :)
Don't psych yourself out. It's just a long ride to check out the Nebraska country side. No pressure at all. It's all about having a good time.
