Okay, I caved. The proof is above, the LHT now has - after two years of service - a bike computer. I vowed two years ago that she wouldn't, and she's done great this long without - but - I cave. I want to keep track of miles, I want to know how long it took me to ride those miles, and sometimes I might even pay attention to the speed.
In other words, I'm a geek. And for those of you who I mocked for keeping track of stats and miles, you may now unleash the mockery train upon me.

Second up, I'm religiously tracking calories again via The Daily Plate/Livestrong.com after a bit of a hiatus. Here's what's funny, when I track calories - I lose weight. When I don't track calories - I don't. Amazing how that works isn't it? Shock and Awe. Etc.
Their iPhone app is, really, about the best thing ever. I think I've blogged about that App before, but seriously - above is today, and today's done at about 2100 calories (TDP thinks I should have 2800, I think they crazy). The thing is in my pocket, so I can update what I eat as I'm eating it. None of the "oh crap I forgot to enter it", the thing is in my pocket ready to rock and roll - anywhere. This and other apps are lifesavers when eating out, but I'll have more on that later.
Today has been a day of rest, literally, as I prep stuff for the week ahead. I'm about to drive my week's worth of clothes into work, then call it a night a bit early. Going to be a dark cold morning - great for riding a bike.

If that's the Nashbar wireless computer, keep your cell phone away from it. For some reason, my cell phone made the computer speed up - I was doing 77 mph once (but I swear I was only going 17 mph, officer). Anyway, a geek like you will be able to make good use of the numbers. Welcome to the club!
I thought you had posted about using a heart rate monitor before..perhaps I was confused.
And, yes, I agree, I have to get back on to the daily plate again.
If tracking is what works, then it's not wrong. I track both miles and calories consumed, and it works for me.
Big Oak: You know, I just learned that the hard way.. LOL. It seems my work Sprint phone causes that issue constantly, while my personal AT&T phone does not. Guess I'll just have to leave the work phone at work (shucks!) :)
Dave P: I did, but the chest strap got annoying after awhile (I know, I know..), I'm waiting to drop some more pounds before I try it again.
db: You know, I'm with you. I got so ridiculously obsessed with the speedo during 2007 that when I bought the LHT in early '08 I vowed not to put one on it. It's worked well, but now I really wanna approach this thing with a "okay, I rode x amount and ate y amount on week w, how did that go?" kind of analysis until I get it down, and done. Hopefully this provides that.
