Hrm

I'm having an impossible time finding things to blog about. You'd think with a dog who ate my cycling shoes (no, really), a used-nightly "new" gym in the garage, and everything else I'd have a novel.. but I don't! So how is YOUR cycling season going so far?

It's been nice. The weather is great. I just discovered a local lake with single track. My work hours and path prevent me from biking to work, but I get dropped off with my bike to work and ride it back.

As for your dilemma with the shoe, how about changing to platforms for the time being and just using some tennis shoes? You know, just to get out.

How do the shoes look like now?

Horrible. I dont have time to ride and my diet sucks...And now that the cycling bug is getting back to me the weather is rain rain rain.

Apart from that not bad *LOL*

I have lost 50 pounds in the past month (now 390 pounds down from 440 pounds)I am walking 1-2 miles a day and riding my stationary for 25 minutes a day. Just got my Trek Navigator out the other day and took it for a ride down the street just to see how things are working. Life is good right now. Hope to lose another 200 and life will be great.

Hey, thanks for asking!

This year is my year for my first century, and am thinking I might ride my first fat tire race at 48.

Got a decent start with a metric at the end of April, but having some knee weirdness I can't pin down. Fit? Age? Too fast too soon? Best guess is I was doing too much standing in a poorly thought out attempt to go clipless. Back to platforms for now and knee exercises.

In England in June for five riding days with the fam, if the volcano will control itself.

Cool of you to ask.

In a word.... GREAT!

4,000+ miles ytd so far, 5 centuries, 1 supported, published the first newsletter that my bike club has had in over a year (since the previous person left). Got interviewed by a local newspaper for Bike to Work Day around here. The photography studio that worked the last century I rode took a great photo of me riding by and is using it on their website for the front page for that event....

and the year's just getting started! So yea, GREAT sums it up nicely. :D

Wow, I was feeling pretty good about my YTD miles till I saw mr 4,000 miles :) Anywho! (Great job to Sean, btw!)

My season is going well, I can feel myself getting stronger, I plan to tackle my first Century of the year this sat, it will start with the Tour de cure metric cent, then I'm going to bike home, which will make it a real century.

I've been riding every day, I commute to and from work now, no car anymore (my wife still has one, since her family lives over 180 miles away). We had a great family ride this weekend, our 11 year old did a 22 mile loop with us, and she did great! And we just got kayaks, so we are learning how to use those and having a blast too.

I'm down 44lbs or 41lbs depending on the day as of late, but I've dropped weight since December 27th, and that's helping my riding by a great deal. I'm currently 221, and my goal is 195, so I'm getting there. (I was 299 the day I decided to start losing several years ago, and with the new focus this year I'm hoping to get the scale to start reading 19x and stay there.

There, all up to date with me!
