Ride the Bike

Man, all kinds of stuff coming up in the Lincoln cycling scene shortly. This weekend the PCL is going to be hosting the Lincoln-?-Lincoln ride, which sounds like a blast. I'd be there, but I have prior commitments this weekend.. d'oh! If you - the reader - can make it, do it. Great way to get some Vitamin G and enjoy what looks to be a rather very decent day weather-wise.

Next up, April 21 is the First Annual NSFW ride, hosted by Shane/Nebraska Outdoor Addict which I will indeed be taking a vacation day for. Sounds like an awesome ride on just about all of my favorite trails in town and stopping at all of my favorite shops - then lunch at Pepe's! So there, in volumes.

Seems like, finally, winter is over and you know what? I'm good with forgetting the winter of '09/'10. It was tough, terrible, and rough all put together between back problems, snow, ice, and just plain lack of motivation. I've lived in Lincoln for 28 years, and I've never seen a winter like that - ever. So here's hoping this winter is a bit more mild, and the summer is enough to get something going.

Those astute may note that I'm not listed on the GLGA/Gravel Worlds roster. I put off, then put off some more mailing in my card - and it seems to have caught me. I'm OK with that, it gives me time to focus on if I can actually pull it off this year instead of signing up then putting in a lackluster effort (see 2009).

More talk about riding soon, as the LHT should be either finished up, or about to be finished up by the fine folks at the south Cycle Works this afternoon. p.s. - thanks for putting a shop in a mile away from home, guys, sooo conveinent - but I miss the folks at the North store!
